Jaro finished fourth at National Road Championship

Jaroslav Kulhavy just finished without a medal at common road championship of Czech and Slovak Republic in Dubnica. Olympic mountain bike champion finished fifth in overall and fourth in Czech competitors. The more than 200 kilometers long race was won by Slovakian Peter Sagan who won mass sprint on athletic stadium few meters in front of group with Jaroslav.

“I rode this race primarily as a training for the Marathon World Championships and it fulfills this purpose perfectly. The medal and the title was very close this time, so I’m little bit sorry about it, but the finish at the stadium was complicated and confusing and I didn’t orient there well and some guys passed me in last meters. Otherwise the course did not fit me well. First Circuit over the hill was good for me, but the second part was too flat, more like road criterium” Jaro said after the race.

Results:
1. Peter Sagan /SVK, Cannondale Pro Cycling/ time 4:38:22 hod.
2. Jan Bárta /CZE, NetApp Endura/
3. Martin Bína /CZE, Kwadro Stannah/
4. Petr Lechner /CZE, GW Cycling/
5. Jaroslav Kulhavý /CZE, Specialized Racing/

Jaro finished third in WC Val di Sole

Jaroslav Kulhavy has won bronze medal in the third race of the UCI Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy. He has repeated the placing from the initial race in Albstadt. The Olympic winner was controlling his position of the profile and temperature challenging race nearly from the very beginning.

“I was riding with Schurter and Absalon for a while, but they were too fast for me in the steep uphills. I am still too heavy for it, so I preferred to keep my own pace. In the third round I speeded up and I started to ride comparable times, so I am satisfied today,” said in the finish Jaroslav, who is tuning his performance for the Marathon World Championship, which runs in two weeks in Austria.

“Since Nove Mesto I have been trying to get together after injures and to increase the volumes towards the Marathon, which I am now concentrating at. So I take today´s third place without any special preparation as a good result. But I think, if I had been training for today´s race I would have ridden with them but finished the third anyway. If I finish the third in the overall World Cup ranking, it will be great,” added Jara.
