Jaroslav Kulhavy has got back the jersey of the UCI MTB World Cup leader! The rider of the Specialized Racing has repeated the success from Nove Mesto na Morave and won in Lenzerheide, Swiss the second from the riden races of the series. On the track in the elevation of 1550m above sea level, the defects of his rivals Nino Schurter and Julien Absalon helped him to win.
‘I am very happy. Because of the results and my performance. I was riding my own pace. I did not want to risk too much in this hot weather and in this altitude. I didn’t like the first tar climb at the beginning of the circuit, but I liked the rest and I felt perfect. It was pity that Nino had the flat tire, it could have been a nice fight in the end,” said Jaroslav after the race. Fortunately he wasn’t limited with his contused knee from the fall during the training on Saturday. In the middle of the serial Jaroslav is in the lead with 660 points, which is 60 points more than the second Schurter.
“This year goals have been de facto fulfilled but my priority is the overall World Cup rating. I want to finish best but I also want to try other training models, similar to those which we used before the Olympic Games in Rio,” explains Jara and he did as he said. After the winning he stayed in Switzerland and later moved for several days to Diavotezze in the altitude of 3000m. “It will be a shorter stay high in the mountains and another training test. I am not going to train here. I will move from here directly to the next race of Strabag Czech MTB Cup in Brno,” added Jara.
