Failure. Jaroslav Kulhavy left the World Championship in Andorra very soon. He was not able to avoid the breathing problems in the altitude of 2000 metres above the sea and the Olympic Champion had no motivation to continue the race.
“There were two possibilities before the race. Either, the altitude will suit me and I will fight for the podium or not, and everything will go wrong. Unfortunately it was the second option….I feel sorry, because after the 4th place in Val di Sole two weeks ago I felt great. But the World Championship is the World Championship…” said Jaroslav shrugging the shoulders sadly.
“Of course I had known that the altitude could influence my performance, it has been my biggest long-term enemy. There is no sense to deeply analyse what went wrong, because my other goals are not in the alpine environment. The important thing for me is that the whole season has gone very well and I´ve already done much work for the next year. I would like to thank my fans and the team for their support and I am looking forward to the next races in Nove Mesto and at the Olympic Games where I hope they will be with me!
